Given that Singapore is a multicultural city where vibrant food is plentiful, it is the perfect place from which to showcase Asia's exciting food culture. Everything from Indian to Chinese to Western food can be found in abundance within Singapore. One need only look at the old-meets-new architecture style throughout the city to know that among the skyscrapers in this metropolis, Singapore still keeps hold of its traditions - especially when it comes to food. Be it Michelin Star restaurants or succulent street food, Singapore has it all.
The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2019 will be voted on by a distinguished group of 1,000 judges made up evenly of a 50-50 split of men and women. This marks the first time that women will be represented in equal numbers as part of the voting panel. In addition to celebrating and identifying the 50 best restaurants in the world, a slew of other notable awards will also be presented that single out exquisite "talent, diversity, opportunity and sustainability."
Speaking about having Singapore host the World's 50 Best Restaurants, Tim Brooke-Webb, managing director of 50 Best said, "As a confident, vibrant and thriving food city, Singapore is the perfect choice. We understand Singapore's commitment to hosting great events, welcoming people from around the world and investing in the food and drinks sector."
Melissa Ow, Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board had this to say about partnering with The World's 50 Best, "Hosting the internationally-renowned 50 Best branded events in Singapore, including The World's 50 Best Restaurants and The World's 50 Best Bars, bears testament to Singapore's rising stature as a gastronomic and nightlife capital.
